Default 3ES Trunk Handle

I was thinking of installing one of these on my car, since I hate touching the outside of my trunk when it's all dirty. I resorted to pushing it by the lock mechanism, but it could be better. How difficult do you think it would be to pull this off? (no pun intended)

Don't you think this handle will get dirty too?

I'm talking about something like this. It's on all modern Lexus sedans

Ahh, sorry completely misunderstood you.

I thought you meant somewhere on the outside like near the license plate lights. LOL, wow!

It probably wouldn't be very hard to install.

I still don't quite get the point of it though, I feel like you would accomplish the same thing by just touching the inside liner of the trunk lid.

And I thought I was the only one that had this odd obsession. I also hate shutting the trunk by pushing on it from the outside. I know it sounds odd to some, almost an OCD thing, but when the trunk lid is dirty, grabbing it where it is painted causes minute scratches. That fine dirt is very abrasive. I usually try to grab it by the latch, but it's not very effective, especially if you're wearing gloves.

My Mom's '07 ES has the handle underneath, like you posted. Even better would be a powered trunk lid, but I guess you'd need to move up to an LS to get that feature.

That's a great solution, let me know how it works out. Link to the handle source?

I'm glad I'm not alone. I'm not so worried about the scratches, but the finger prints that are left behind. When you get into detailing cars, all these things tend to jump out at you. The latch works in a pinch, but it's not 100% effective.

I found the handle just by searching eBay for Lexus Trunk Handles. They're very cheap too, the one I found for that first picture was going for $5 with free shipping.
