Default front pads, 05 ES 330

I posting because I found it hard to find basic information on doing this job.

TOOLS: tool for wheel lug, jackstands or a lift
14 mm ratchet or open end for the caliper slide pin anchor bolt
good brake grease
a small mechanics pick or similar tool to pick up bleed dust shield

First, take out the lower 14mm slide pin anchor bolt and loosen the upper
Pull the caliper up and attach to spring with something
remove outer pad and either reuse, after cleaning, the early warning anti-rattle pad, or buy a new one
notice you have to pry the spring like attachment off the top of each pad and use new or reuse grease anti-rattle pad where it contacts brake pad, and also the contacts points for pads
same procedure with inner pad and notice the spring at the top of the pad faces out.
when you push the pistons back in, be prepared to bleed air out of the dust shield with a pick, if it bubbles up when pushing pistons in
now pull out the lower slide pin from its dust shield and regrease it
the upper pin is attached to caliper, so just pull it out and regrease it too
install caliper pins back into their dust shields by pushing on them until the shield pops into position

Hopes this helps if all you want to do is pads.

that is a pad and rotor change with good tips also. the tips here to lift up the dust seal and bleed air and how to grease the slide pins and get the seal back on the pins are valuable
