I think the confusion comes from the part that says, "Pink is 100% compatible with the current red" which people took to mean compatible with the car. But it really means chemically compatible with the coolant itself.

I've sent the question, specifically about my 2001 ES300, through both Toyota and Lexus "contact us" forms. We'll see what they say!

i was in the same situation. Contacted lexus customer support and they recommended toyota red as per the fsm.

Yes there is. I did get a message back from Lexus customer support. It was sort of anti-climactic they said "The pink coolant is perfectly fine in your 2001 ES300"

I figure that is good enough for me, if it were to cause a problem I'll sue them or something ha.
