So i have to replace my calipers asap the drivers front caliper is stuck. so i figure now is the best time to do a total jobon the front breaks (rotors pads and calipers). Only problem is im not sure how paint the calipers themselves. Whether i paint on the rotor or since im buying new calipers should i paint themthe day before i change everything and give them time to dry.

ps. Is there a way of fixing the piston for the caliper and save money or is it time to get new ones @ 165k mile And thanx in advance

It's a lot easier and faster to just swap the calipers. Fixing them is not worth it. I did so with no issues.

The only thing that you should do is paint/prep the calipers as soon as you get them. Don't wait till you put them on. I've been having rust issues because of that, even after painting them (rather poorly).

Clean and paint the calipers off the car, mask off the fitting for the hose and bleeder, as well as the pistons/boots. Paint the bracket too, mask off the slider bolt holes. New calipers are great to paint, used calipers should be sanded/brushed or blasted first.

You can repair a caliper, while I agree with Mr. Booby and I'd be tempted to get a rebuilt one because we have cheap ubiquitous Camry brakes, you can buy a "rebuild kit" very cheaply, usually less than $10 which I have done when a rebuilt caliper is too expensive. A caliper is very simple you have a piston seal and slider bolts and boots to replace, that's pretty much it. Air tools are nice to pop the piston out but there are tricks to do this without air on a signal piston caliper.

Aswell i have stock rims with it i was wondering process on on to paint them ?

What color are you planning on painting them? I would probably avoid doing this as it will look nice... for a while. (My black painted stockers are in my basement). If you just want to black them out you can Plastidip them, which is non permanent as you can peel it off if you don't like it. Painted or not, though, stockers will never match what you can get with custom wheels that you pick for your car.

and I was thing black for color on the stockers and red calipers but thank for the advice what are some good sites for rims?

Tirerack and discount tire direct. They both let you see what new wheels will look like from a side view.

I agree with plastidip... If you do it yourself with regular rim paint make sure you sand them and clean them before spraying. Make sure you get all the clear coat off of the rim
