ok so there was this Lexus for sell for only about $910 .

documents complete .

problem is , the car has been sitting here for almost 2 years .

i am about to buy it , as it is , so i'm wondering what possible mechanical problems i might get when i send it to workshop for repairs .

ofcourse it is listed that the car has no fuel pump and no battery on it . is there anything else that i should look out for cars that has been sitting for more than 2 years ?

other than that the person selling it says that the car has been running fine .







oh and this car is located in Indonesia , Batam Island . an indonesian island as big as Singapore , only 20KM away from Singapore .

Oil sludge and bad oil seals would be my biggest concern. Also, I know critters, like rats and squirrels, like to chew on wires, but then I don't know what Indonesia is like. So a car sitting on the street for two years could potentially not even run, but good luck with the repairs.

well i visited the workshop this afternoon (5 hours ago) and the repair man said that he should get it running by saturday . i hope for the best because from the looks of it , this car is a beauty and should stand out against other vehicles there are in Batam .

there are about 120.000 vehicles listed on Batam Island and there are only 16 of this Lexus ES300 '95 on the island (checked with the traffic police data , i have inside game and so far from 1 year driving around the island i've only spotted 4 on the road so really having this beauty come back to life would really mean something .

i'll keep this thread updated . for the meantime if you guys have any ideas or suggestions please let me know . would really appreciate it .

i'm one of those evolved indonesian who looks forward that english is a must . haha jokes aside but i guess it's just constant practice at home (with my two sisters) . that also mean tv shows such as Top Gear UK , etc .

anyways , that white lexus is your drive ? i checked they only have 9 of those in Batam and that's about the highest ES model makes here .

news update !

and this one is quite dramatic .

4 children aged 3 - 6 were found dead inside a car somewhere in batam (9.30pm now) 3 hours ago . they've been missing since wednesday afternoon .

guess where they were found , precisely infrond of this car i bought !!

on the first picture , you can see a white 1980 Suzuki Jimny infront of this Lexus . it was the car infront of that white Jimny that the dead bodies of the children were found .

and to make it GREAT , because here in Indonesia whenever some big news spread , people flock like hungry dogs to get a glimpse of what's what and because there were many of them around , SOME OF THEM STOOD ON TOP OF THE LEXUS !!! now the roof of that lexus is dented really really down .

i have a angry feeling that they didn't just stand on it but JUMPED on it .

nevermind , i'm having the car repainted after it comes back to life . damn it .
