01 es300 valves ticking bad at mid gas pedal mid rpms? valve adjustment?
Please help, my mom has a 01 es300 and I just drove it, it drives fine but at about 2500-4500 rpms and mid throttle the valves start ticking pretty damn loud then it goes all smooth again up top. It almost sounds like the timing is retarded during that range? I know nothing about these engines but do know everything about bmws. Please help me.

YES, it does do it when under loud, little hill, etc. kinda like the vid but mind seems to sound louder like the valves are very lose or the timing is retarded.

well i was been told that its a "lifter bucket out of adjustment".."Its not uncommon for the bottom of the bucket to get worn and cause excessive clearance, causing noise. Is it an easy job? No.. but it can be done at home. If the bucket itself is worn, it should be replaced, but if its just a bit out of adjustment, you can swap the shims out. This is usually best left to a shop, since they have an assortment of shims to swap in and out."
i have had this for couple of years now and its comes back n forth and hasnt hurt the engine or car in anyway. When i hear the noise i just easy off the gas pedal. Its a expensive job and very time consuming. Its a defect straight from the company assembly plant..arrrrr.
