Default Just got '05 ES330 - Adding Sirius, maybe more

Hello!

Just got a 2005 ES 330 with the Navigation System, CD Changer and "Premium Sound" (if that's actually premium and not what they just call the stock sound system.) It's not the upgraded Mark Levinson system or anything.

Very nice ride, very happy with it. Only downer is it does not currently have the satellite enabled which is a must for me.

On my 2005 Scion xB all I needed was the basic sirius kit.. possibly even the same exact one (the SCC1) it's been awhile so I don't recall.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIRIUS-SCC1-...item4d089c4627

or

http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/serv...0&siId=2482698

Would the ES330 work the same way? Or do i need an additional interface or anything else?

One last question..

Has anyone tried one of these iPod kits? ie

http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=47

Do they work OK or would there be any pitfalls anyone can see?

I'll probably install the thing myself or at worst take it to a local car stereo shop. I'm not going to pay crazy amounts to the dealer.. especially if its like the Scion which took about 20 minutes to install.

Thanks!

I've got one of these ipod/iphone kits in my 05 ES330:

Works great, good sound quality (upgraded from an FM transmitter ) and easy to install.

That kit looks nice but since my car has the SAT input, the iSimple seems like it would work a bit better with more features.

Default Sirius Install / Hiding iPod in '05 ES330

OK let's try this.

For folks that have done sat kits before, or even folks that have had it done..

What's the best location to run the sirius antennae to? Truck? Passenger side roof?

Follow up -- whats the best way to run the cable from the head unit ? In the door panels, under the carpet, etc..

Last question --

Where do you think the best place to hide an iPod classic would be so that you can still get to it? Unfortunately the ashtray thing next to the in-dash cigarette lighter is just a hair too small to fit the ipod and a cable and still close.. otherwise that would be perfect. Other obvious options are glove box or center console but I don't want to dremel the car up too much in the process.

Just wondering if anyone had done something like this before and had any tips?

thanks.
