240,000 miles on my '97 es300 + a question...
My girl is in the shop today getting a new timing belt and all the things with it...she still burns NO oil, snappy as hell...and the envy of my friends who right the fat checks for their cars...I really got blessed with this car and now... NO payments... The one thing I have to know...Do ALL 1997 es300's come with remote door lock/entry ??? That is the one thing I did not get when I bought this car....a key fob... I have a place in town that will replace/reprogram a remote for about $150 but I do not know if my car came with that feature... Your thoughts are appreciated.....thx... BD

Glad to hear it still run's great!
I believe keyless entry was standard, but I'm not 100% certain. I mean come on, what's a luxury vehicle without keyless entry... lol

If you are keeping score. Those of you who have a 1997 ... I have some surprising news. 242,000 and the timing belt was NEVER changed. I am lucky to have a good , fare wrench guy who enjoys what he does. The total cost of the operation was $714.85 ... yes including parts. He changed the Water Pump, Main seal, Timing Belt, and Tensioner as well as the external belts.. He said ...If you are doing the belt you should do the others because they are on the same route. When he showed me the Belt, we were both surprised to see how little wear was showing on the belt. The only thing we could tell was the lack of stiffness to the belt...the condition was very good. He commented that their design is not like the American cars, the go on an Odd number of teeth on the sprocket keeps the wear down ... and it must work. I hope this is food for thought ... enjoy your '97 it's still a great car...after 15 years.

I am at 290,000 miles. Also a 97 ES300. Still on original starter, alternator, engine, transmission, etc....
