I am working on a solution, just a little more time I need to do some testing...

Pretty sure wiper "mist" was just an oversight or something when they designed the car. My sister's 97 Escort had a mist wipe function.

I'll start:
Windshield wipers can be put into winter mode where the wiper at rest/off is ~4 inches above its normal mode stowed position. The wipers can be flipped out and it won't run into the hood edge when in winter mode.
I have an 01 ES and I can't figure out how to place my wipers in winter mode. The manual isn't much help.

Pull on one of the arms, both wipers will snap into place. Just be careful and pull with a constant force in the direction of normal travel.

"Auto Tilt-Away" For the steering wheel in my 93, I was cleaning and dusting the steering column a couple of weeks ago, saw the button which was turned off, and turned it on, and voila. Now i have lots of room getting in and out of the car

Its been over a year and only just noticed it.

Inaccessible location of cabin air filter (2000 ES). Even Toyota mechanics couldn't find it.

I'm glad they moved it to behind the glove box in 2002 and later models of the ES.

Anyways on the ES i really like convenient and easy way to change the rear middle and reverse light bulb. There is a small opening on each side when you open the trunk for removing/replacing those bulbs.i like that
too bad that they didnt carry on that with the 05 ES330 i had to take the emergency handle off and take out about 15 push clips to remove the cover all to change a license plate bulb. Big pain in the neck.

That is something i wish my 05 had. It has a manual steering wheel adjustment and is not telescopic. so annoyning.

I just realized I've been to the plant where my ES300 was built, Toyota Motors Kyushu. When I was there in 2006 I saw IS and RX models, didn't realize they produced the ES too.

Def not, we had to leave our IDs at the gate and phones in the administrative offices. Wouldn't be prudent for me as a security software vendor at the time, smuggling out pics ha. It was a neat place. Other factories I've been to are Porsche in Stuttgart and BMW China in Shenyang so i don't have a ton to compare to. I should tour an American plant someday I always wanted to visit Bowling Green Corvette factory.

That the rear seats don't fold down. I thought all sedans could do that for transporting larger (longer) items in the trunk.
