Rattle noise when going over bumps
Hi I just got a 93 es300 with 195k on it. Is there a common issue with the rear suspension, it sounds like a strut but I just wanted to make sure there wasent some other common noise.

Struts usually don't make noise. The rattle is likely coming from the strut mount. You might as well replace the strut as well, remember suspension parts should be replaced in pairs.

Just from personal experience, my rear sway bar made a lot of noise when I went over bumps. I changed the links and upgraded to a bigger bar - noise went away.
My front strut mounts made noise when going over bumps at low speeds. They sounded like loose bolts/nuts. The noise went away after a strut replacement.
Sway bars are easy to check. If you can make the bar move by pushing and pulling on it, it needs attention.

ES300 rear rattle
I found this article recently and I am going to do this procedure tomorrow. I did the complete strut replacement and sway bar bushings and end links with no improvement. I am hoping this takes care of this annoying noise.
