I need help with my projector retrofit.
Hello Club Lexus, new to this forum. 1st post! Using my cell phone so I hope all goes well.
Ok, I have an issue with my aftermarket projectors. I have 6000k. But its no as bright as I'd hope. It looks like something is wrong. l looked up photos of what it should look like, and it does not match at all. Its like the light is uneven. It only lights up part of the road and stops like 30 ft in front of me. It lights up the street signs a mile away. But not the road. I was wondering if anyone knows what my issue is, and if you know of a solution.
Thank you.

Its a complete retro fit. They are 2"5 in bixenon projectors. I bought them off amazon. I already had the his bulbs and ballast. I have done a lot of aligning. And even went to extra measures that the bulb is securely in the projector. Right now its flickering, but I have the solution to that in the mail. I checked them before installing and everything looked tip top. You can see from the photo that the light just dies 30 ft from the car

What projectors exactly are they? The intensity is way off from the cutoff line....
are these generic projectors? Are the lenses clear? Is the spacing from back portion of projector to front projector off?
Show us some pics?
I'm no expert at this but do have experience retrofitting some sc430 with e30 clear lens in my 97 es. what a PITA it was

They are generic. I thought they were plug n play. The lenses are clear. Pics wouldn't help that much. They are cover by my shroud. Would I be able to change the intensity? Shouldn't it just be one bright even beam?

If they are generic, that may be the issue. Majority of retrofits are projectors that come standard on vehicles and implemented to another. These projectors that come from the factory go through testing and engineering to be road safe. Your generic ones do not go through this testing and engineering and is probably why the intensity of the light is so far from the cutoff. Your front and back projector spacing may be off. I don't know, without you showing some photos of the projector

I had a similar experience with my first attempt at a ls430 retrofit on my gs. Lit up signs way before getting to them but died off about 30 ft in front. Pull along side a wall at night and see if your beam angles up. Mine was a aimed way too high at first so the light on the road was the bottom of the beam pattern. I had to adjust (align) them to come down. This put the light back down on the road where I needed it. My mounting bracket allowed for the use of the oem adjustment gears.
You said you did adjustments... did you do them while the headlights were mounted on the car? It could very well be a cheap projector but if you are hitting signs a mile away and only getting 30 ft on the road my guess is your light is shooting up up and away. You won't see that on the up close to a wall shot... but if you park along a wall and look at the pattern you will.

Yeah I did all the aiming in the world. Its just an in even spread. I'm thinking its the projector itself. I think I paid like $40. It looks like I'll have to pay mire for better quality. I want it to look like this guys off another thread. He bought mini bixenons that look identical to mine. But were three times as much. Looks like you get what you paid for.
