Default First Engine code..P1410..help!

Hi Guys

so i did my first oil change and second pcv valve replacement over the weekend, felt pretty good about my DIY and today on sunday night the engine throws a code
now i dont know if its linked to the pcv valve or not.
the code is p1410 which means the egr valve sensor or something is shot. i looked up the codes, tried to find a tutorial or article here on it but to no avail.

is it easy enough to replace? the check engine light is now gone. it was on for about an hour, then went away. but the code is stored, i used my obd scanner and found it stored.

advice? shall i clear codes and wait for it to re appear? or shall i replace the sensor?

i also must mention. i get a very slight hesitation in first gear when i accelerate from a dead stop..happens alot of turns, i give it a bit more power and it goes away...

could this be related?
maybe i should reset my ecu and hope for the best? haha. no? ok then...
please help! would appreciate any thoughts/ideas. i am in cold canada and its getting colder, i cant have my car die on me

If it was my car, I would reset the codes from memory, and. See if they return. Did you use a Lexus PCV valve or an aftermarket?

Either way, it does not sound that your code is related to your DIY efforts.

Reset and see if they come back, most likely not linked to your DIY's.

Wait for it.... BTW, you cannot pull any codes if the CEL isn't on.

The EGR pintle inside was probably stuck which caused the code P1410. If it comes on again, you need to verify if EGR is working.

the egr and sensor comes in 1 piece IIRC. you need to remove the EGR and clean the pintle, if doesn't work you must replace. no choice.

The EGR valve position sensor is very easy to access...it is just right above the EGR valve.
When I replaced mine many many years ago, the part was only CAD$30-40 from the dealership.

PM'ed you.
The EGR valve position sensor is a sensor with a triangular flange on top of the EGR valve.
It is just held down by 3 small fasteners. It takes 30 seconds to removed and another 30 seconds to install a new one.

Default updated on the p1410

Hi everyone. just an update. i know i may be taking this too far BUT..i followed the hanes+fsm and did a check and the resistance is 5 kilohm and the range should be 1-4.3 k ohm. so the sensor seems to be busted.. took it out, cleaned it (white goo was on it) but to no avail the light came back. so i have ordered a new sensor from rockauto ..should be here in a few days!!

. i also did a obd scan , pictures of freeze frame data attached. any idea why its running rich??
maybe i should not worry about it but it does seem to be running worse in terms of mpg... since the EGR sensor went bad...

HI BDSL and everyone

I got the sensor, doing the replacement tonight. After the replacement, shall i reset the computer itself by taking off the negative batt terminal, or just clear the codes and let it be?

thanks
