Just got my response from Lexus. They will provide some compensation but I must take it to the dealer. The dealer want to charge more than 7 hours labor to replace the dash pad. Does anyone know what the flat rate book says the labor time is to replace a 2006 ES330 dash pad?

I've always wondered if they will just give me the part and let me do the labor myself. Win-win.

I have the exact same issue with my 2004. Nothing deployed however it has it this point disabled my airbags or I am seeing the airbag light so I'm assuming as a safety precaution it's set my airbag as disabled. I've tried calling Lexus and they've been giving me the runaround I feel like because this is a safety concern that they should be re I feel like because this is a safety concern that they should be fixing this free of charge.

Can anybody share their experience with customer service and how they managed to get a replacement/repair taken care of and covered?

The dash pad warping shouldn't have anything to do with the airbag system malfunctioning. My dash pad around the passenger airbag is warping too. There is no other solution (other than to replace the dash pad) and the problem is also occurring on Gen 5 Camry's with a similar dash layout.

If your airbag light is on, or flashing, have it scanned by a shop with an advanced scanner (or buy a techstream cable and scan the airbag codes yourself).

It could be as simple as a loose connection under the seat.

My airbag cover is doing the same exact thing! Darn Lexus!!!!

Going to have an auto upholstery dude look at mine. mine is actually cracked and not stretched... picked up the car used and at an affordable price. I don't want to blow too much cash on it. . I just hate looking at it.

My (new to me) 2003 ES300 has the same condition. Really the only blemish in the whole interior of the car.

I spent a quick walk through the parking lot and noticed tons of these issues on camrys too. Kinda an abrupt reminder that we are all driving Toyota sedans but makes me feel better.
