Not to continue the flame war between 'user error' and 'manufacturer error.'

The car is in the shop having the engine replaced. A firm in Orange County had a JDM engine (30-50k claimed) for it. He is replacing the thermostat, the water pump, the timing belt. He is charging me $2500 for the engine and work.

His recommendation is to drive < 65 for first 1k miles.
Change oil filter and oil @ 500 miles - This I will adjust due to the fact of low mileage driving and will discuss with him.
Flush radiator at 500 miles.

Moving forward, I am going to just replace the oil every 4 months regardless of mileage. I know I will not put 7500 miles on in 4 months and that the mileage may take me 1.5 years to hit

Now all I need to find for it is some decent seat covers.

As someone wanted to know what is going on . . .

I picked up the car, after the firm in Orange county put in a JDM engine. I forgot how much I missed driving the car. It is sooooooo smooth and pleasant. I am sitting at 250 miles on it since I replaced the engine. As I am going to heed the guys advice, at 500 miles, I am getting an oil change and flushing the radiator. I did have one issue which sucked. I blew a coil pack. I was an idiot and did not replace all the coil packs when the engine was out. I had previously had two replaced, but I think it would have been smart to replace all of them, instead of paying for the labor to do it later.

I have my Toyota brand oil filters, time to get some oil, time to get some of that red radiator fluid and away I go

I did have two other minor things happen. The driver side window controllers, the unit seemed to have popped up out a little. I have to push it back down. Is there a clip or something for this?

I also have no overhead light inside the car and need to figure out what happened there.

Thanks for those that pushed me to get this done.
