As you can see in my signature, I have previously replaced all my radio button lights with a 60mA/0.5Watt/8Volt Micro Lamp from MCMElectronics. It was 6mm tall and 3mm wide.

My LCD works fine, but the backlighting is burned out. I removed the light bulb and measured it.

Diameter: 4.15mm Height: 10.00mm

What do you think the specs would be for this bulb and where can I find one? I would like to avoid LEDs, if I can.

My other option is to pay $130 for a completely new LCD display from Pioneer....

Okay, I found a temporary solution. I had a few spare bulbs left over from my Climate Control repair.
Factory Part #: 90010-03001 (Brown). These bulbs are used for lighting up the buttons, so they are a little dimmer.
They are also a little bit shorter. Original bulb is on the right.





I'm going to order the Black bulbs (90010-03002) that are meant for the Climate Control LCD, and try them out.

so the green cap comes out so why not go for the "whiter" look then..so if you remove the green cap it would still fit into the socket and work right? or the green cap has to be there?
I think i will just order some led bulbs (white) and installed them without the green cap and i think that will look good.

The green cap is what holds the bulb in place, it snaps into place. Also, the bulb itself is yellow-ish and not completely white. Finally, I wanted to keep all the lights the same.

p.s.: I also somehow fixed the Hazard Switch back light. Not sure if they are connected or if something snapped back into place.

hmm ..so you do need to green cap in-order to put all back together..i was thinking if i remove the green cap i could still put it back into the socket without worrying about the bulb falling off.
On the pic above i see 2 green assembly - one cap and the other base
So i am thinking the base is what keeps the bulb in place and the cap is just for green colour then?

You are partially correct. The assembly on the left is used for lighting up buttons in the HVAC portion. The assembly on the right is used for lighting up the Radio LCD. The green cap on the right has it's own base integrated into the rubber. You could technically solder the bulb onto the board without the green cap, if you really wanted to.
