Question HID headlight advice please??

Hey all.
I am looking to put some HIDs in my 97 ES300. I am trying to do lower output on the low beams (6,000K ?) and higher output in the fog lights (3,000K ?). I had some HID bulbs and a ballast about a year ago, but it was junk, and kept messing up so I got rid of them.
So, a few questions...is a conversion kit necessary? Is the kit just the bulbs, wires, ballasts, and mounting hardware? Also, can I get the names of the best HID suppliers that you guys have had personal experience with?

Thanks
Mike

contact DDM tuning for your HID needs. also stick with a 35 watt kit.

The 97 ES300 uses an H7 bulb for the low beams meaning you will need an H7 HID kit. 6000k will provide you with a crisp white color and a slight blue/purple tone. It is a nice balance of color and usable light output.

If you want to do your fogs then 3000k is definitely the way to go. This will provide you with deep yellow output which is perfect for fog light applications. You need an H3 HID kit to convert your fog lights to HID.

You will need an HID conversion kit to do this upgrade which will come with bulbs, ballasts and mounting hardware.

Here are a few great pics of vehicles with a 6000k HID kit in the lows and 3000k in the fogs -

^ I feel nervous running a 35w kit but then again I'm new to HID's myself.
This is 8k headlights and factory 3k non HID fogs. The camera picks the color up a little funny.

If a 35W HID kit melted your housings or caused any damage it's because of the quality of the kit you installed. Our 35W HID kits come with bulbs that use anti-uv quartz glass to ensure you do not damage your chrome reflectors.

I have a 99 es300 and I was going to switch my front bumper to the 2000 2001 and get the clear headlights with the chrome but I found out about that problem of making it melt so I kept my bumper sealed the ****** out with silicone so I cant really tell if it's melting it or not and I check my ballasts twice a month and no problems there either xenondepot is right bad kit..
