Default Codes PO441 & PO446 1999 ES

I could use a tip on figuring out if this is a bad Charcoal canister? Is there a way to test the canister without taking it out? I've watched a youtube video on how to replace it and I don't think I'm going to do it myself. What about vac hoses? Is this a visual inspection? The car drives fine. I've had the codes cleared after installing a new gas cap and the check engine light came back on after 30 or so miles. Thanks for your help.

Check the EVAP lines if they disconnected. Your canister is located at the rear of the car which requires to be lifted up to check the EVAP VSV. Thats usually the problem.

Try ignoring it for a few weeks/gas tanks... Seriously, if you overfilled it even by a little it will cause this too... Been there done that a toolkit a couple weeks avid clearing it a few times for the code to permanently **** off!

I'll give it a few weeks, I guess. I just got the car a week ago, replaced both knock sensors, wiring harness, rear struts, 2 tires, oil and air filter, and PCV valve. So I'm about spent for a bit! Maybe I'll try some black tape..

Like i said, if you got no vacuum leak in the EVAP system, it's most likely the EVAP VSV which is located on the canister or the one in the engine bay.
