Rear Brakes

Rear Brakes
So today while driving my car (first time in a few weeks) i heard a squeaking noise when braking from the rear, no big deal i guess. Later one the caliper seemed to stick and the car was getting harder to move. I pressed on the brake a few times and it seemed to work and the caliper didn't stick or seem to stick as much. I drove home and i hear a POP noise and then a constant grinding. Now even when parked, the car makes a loud squeaking noise if moved at all. Any ideas? I am not driving the car and just ordered new calipers, rotors, and pads. Is my caliper completely done or is it just the pads? The outside one looks fine so maybe it is just the inside pad? The car doesn't seem to be vibrating while braking just a loud squeaking/grinding noise while driving. What worries me most was the pop noise. I ended up buying 2 Remanufactured napa brake calipers and Premium Rotors (much cheaper then Ultra Premium). Does anyone have any ideas? I just want to make sure it's not something worse. Can brakes go so badly so quickly? Everything seems to go wrong at once.

That's weird. Maybe try and bleed the system, could be air bubbles...
I just changed my caliper and its running great now. Rear brakes only have about 20% of braking power, so it wouldn't stop the car.
Drive on it for a bit if its been sitting around for a while... Touch the rim after a spirited drive, if its warm compared to the others, the caliper is sticking, you can also smell the burning pad material.

I couldn't get napa parts so i had to settle for advance auto fenco calipers and wereweaver? rotors and pads. All have warranties so i am not to worried, i needed to settle because i am leaving for cleveland Saturday and no one besides Advance had parts in stock. I regreased the pins on the rear calipers last summer so i think they finally had it after 180k miles and 11 years

I think the OEM calipers are better than the rebuilt crap sold at Advanced Auto Parts or any chain parts store. I suggest returning the calipers, and just keeping the original's on if they aren't bad.

Also, the rebuilt crap is not rebuilt by the OE company, it's rebuilt by some "joe blogg" who doesn't know the first thing about rebuilding a caliper. I've seen tons of these fail, it's better to get it from Sewell or some other website.
The decade old calipers will last much longer that these crappy rebuilt calipers, but to each his own.

You do realize that the parts that came with the car are OE, not OEM.

Aisin makes these for Toyota, I'd call that oem since it came off the production line on the car. They use the same components to rebuild these for re-use. They are cleaned and done properly, like a NIB caliper from Toyota.
Fact of the matter is, OEM caliper fail, this is the second I've had fail on my car since I've had it in 6 years or so. Both original that had to be replaced.

You are so dense. It's sad.

I still stand by what I said originally, and will agree to disagree about rebuilt calipers.

I just got my rear break pads and rotors done this weekend. I got Brembo Rotors and pads all through the dealership. I paid 100 for the rotors and 65 for the pads thanks to my friend. How much if you don't mind me asking did your rotors and pads cost?
