Code P0442 - VSC, CEL & Trac Off Lights
Had oil changed a couple of weeks ago. Advance scanned codes - P0442. Guy said evap. leak in one of the vacume lines. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm getting the same code on an 03.... already tried a new gas cap. For me it usually takes a week or two before it comes back after clearing the code...
There's also lines to the charcoal canister which isn't under the hood (it's by the fuel tank under the car) that could leak.
Anyone know how to find the leak?

The easiest and fastest way to find a leak in the Evap system is to bring it to a garage that is equipped with a smoke machine. Leaks will become obvious almost immediately.
Another possible cause is that you didn't tighten your gas cap after a fill-up, or your gas cap may be defective.

Of course easier to take to a shop, but trying to do this at home.
Where would they inject the smoke? There's this "evap service port" which says something about 1psi on it... maybe if I pump that up? But I'd assume there's some valves gotta be in the right positions too so I guess need to figure out how to open/close those as needed.
