Question Timing Belt, what else to replace?

Hi all,

my 2004 ES330 comes close to 90k ml.
It's time for Timing Belt replacement.
I know that Water Pump makes sense to replace at the same time.
What else need to be replaced?
For example this kit has:
WATER PUMP, Timing Belt, Tensioner, Idler, Water Pump, Gasket
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1798450

Which kit would you recommend to get for this 90+ k ml service and from where?
I plan to get parts and pay to pro shop labor.

Thanks.

It never hurts to do all those things although on a 2004 I'd probably wait and do the pump/tensioner/pulley at 180k. If you decide to do now get the kit from rockauto.

which kit would you recommend?
Per service book I have to replace just timing belt.
Just to replace timing belt would take 3 hours labor * $90 and belt for $50-$100
so I should be about $400 out of pocket only vs $1k to replace the rest

I'll check if I can do the rest at 180k ml service - that would be nice
I just heard Timing Belt and Water Pump done together ....

Normally I recommend timing belt and waterpump together but my car is a 2000 with 134000 miles and no prob at all with my waterpump and that is what I hear from the folks here as well. It's anecdotal but I'd guess that is the rule on these cars. I would recommend you go ahead and replace the drive belts if they haven't been done since they have to come off anyway. Not sure what OE is, others here can tell you that.

do it together. It is no more work than it is doing the t-belt. And it is not 3hrs to do the job on your car... sorry.

My dad's RX330 [same motor] was in for 7hrs with timing belt, waterpump, belts, etc.

On top of this kit, get valve cover gaskets since the front one is lifted up, and cam seals too. These are less than 40$ for the lot.

Also get this, since the Aisin kit doesn't include it; DAYCO Part #85022 Timing Belt Tensioner Adjuster
*i bought the exact same timing belt kit too for the RX...

At work (Toyota dealer), we ALWAYS do the pump with the T Belt. Why rish havign the pumo go bad when your already right there when changing the belt?

1: T-Belt
2: Water Pump
3: Hydrolic Tensioner (The 2 idlers I;ve never really seen go bad at this mileage)
4: Cam Seals (2)
5: Crank Seal
6: Acessory Belts (2)

Personally I'd go with an Aisin brand (OEM) water pump on Rock Auto. They also sell kits that come with the belt and such.
