Default 2005 ES330 A/C problem - blowing hot air out of drivers side

My 2005 ES330 is blowing hot air out of the drivers side air vents when A/C is on. Recently took it to a shop (2 months ago) who said it was very low on coolant and recharged system. They could not find any leaks...which was puzzling to me. After I got the car back from the shop I actually thought the air should have been colder than it was. Seems to have gradually blown slightly warmer air as time went on. Now, hot air blows out on drivers side and fairly cool air on passengers side. Compressor is noisy but the shop said "it appears to work OK.....but who knows for how long?".

Of course, this happened yesterday, on the hottest day of the year.
(Gotta be kidding me....)

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks for any input.

It is probably your compressor if you don't have any leaks. I would get a second opinion for sure, maybe try your local dealership?

It's either low on coolant or the compressor most likely.

prolly a motor on the plenum that opens a passage to the left, a broken lever, etc

could be a broken lever or servo motor, or it could just be low freon...try recharging the a/c...it will be colder on the passenger side when the freon is low because the passenger lower dash contains the a/c evaporator and the whole a/c unit.

I had the same problem after lexus re-charged my unit. It took a while for it to happen though.. My mechanic said lexus only put 53 pounds of freon inside when it is suppose to be 132 pounds. In turn the unit only has enough freon to blow on the passenger side and not the drivers side. Re-charge your unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT REALLY WORKED FOR ME.
