P0446
I have a 98 gs300. My check engine light turned, and code p0446 comes up. Does anyone know the proper steps for me to fix this problem. I'm pretty new at this forum, but I am doing everything possible for me to work on my own car. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P0446 is an evap code. You will most likely need to change the charcoal canister vent valve (CCV).
However, it may also be an issue with your fuel pressure. To check the fuel pressure:
Check the battery positive voltage is above 12 V
Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery
Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets, and disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the fuel pipe support.
Slowly loosen the union bolt.
Install the fuel inlet hose and SST (pressure gauge) to the fuel pipe support with the 3 gaskets and SST (union and adapter).
If pressure is high, replace the fuel pressure regulator. If pressure is low, check these parts:
Fuel hoses and connections
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel pressure:
301-347 kPa (3.1-3.5 kgf/sq. cm 44-50 psi)
Hope this helps you out man!

Yea that's an evap code that I had it come up on my ES a few times.first start off cheap.make sure ur not getting gas with the car running and make sure gas cap is tight cause that will set it off.if those aren't the problem I would buy a new gas cap and if that still doesn't do it I would go with it being the charcoal canister.I just figure rule out the cheap easy things first.good luck
