Hello Fellas Lexus fan:

I just recently acquired a 2002 Lexus ES300 with 79K miles. I have done extensive search and reading though lots of post about the car. So far, I enjoy the car very much.

There is 1 questions I would like to know:

Base on the owner manul, it stated that the car needs premium gas. I seach on google and there are many site stated that the car DOES NOT need premium. It stated that 87 unleaded gas is perfectly fine for 2002 ES300.

Please advise of what gas I should use to fill the car?

Thank you

You don't have to use 89. I notice a bit better performance sometimes. But when gas prices are high I switch to 87 and add gas treatments occasionally.

If you have any questions about your new sweet ride just let me know man. I have an 02 also.

Thanks guys!

I love the car and plan to keep it for a long time. The gas prices are so high that I can justify to spend the money on premium fuel. I will go with 87 than 93 which the differences is almost 40 cents per gallon.
