transmission shaking?
Hello all!
I have 2005 ES 330 with about 110k. Need some help.....
After 10-15 min of driving I feel like the front of my car start shaking only when accelerating.. (no shaking on steering wheel ... just the front..) and then I can feel lack of acceleration. When I am driving up hill I see the rmp coming up to 4000 and is not shifting correctly... No shaking issues when is cold, and no issues while turning. No shaking when going constant speed (any speed) Timing belt was changed recently. cv joins probably are not an issue... it is not shaking when on park or gear and brake press...
Any idea....
Thx!

If the timing belt was done at a shop recently, get them to take a look.

trans oil was changed and it was good shape when I was changing it... The timing belt was done 15k ago... I was at 3 shops and all of them indicates internal transmission issue.... shortly speaking transmission rebuilt...
I have no light no misfiring...
it really feels like transmission.. especially when I see 4k rpm coming shaking and not shiffting right..
Also I was told by one of the mechanics that Lexus and Toyota have some issues with Valve Body.. so there are some chances I will need Corrective Valve Body .... price almost 1000..... above the transmission rebuilt... I am disappointed with Lexus.....

Now, before you start pointing fingers, there are many things to consider:
- was the recent timing belt job done correctly (mechanics are not always as good as they claim they are)
- did you follow the maintenance schedule including transmission fluids, ignition components, etc?
- were the right parts used (timing belt, spark plugs, type of fluids, etc)?
- did the previous owner follow the maintenance schedule and used the correct parts?
Many Lexus/Toyota/Honda/Acura vehicles were rated very reliable under consumer reports.
While it is easy to point fingers....

Unless it has been severely abused and/or neglected, it's hard to believe that a 2005 ES with only 110k is in need of a new trans. Most likely you have an electrical issue. Coil packs?

According to docs. I have received the car was maintained regularly at local Lexus dealer.. oil changes etc.. However, I saw in the record that the previous owner refuse changing trans oil. When I got it it had way above the recommended trans. oil level (not sure if this affect anything or not).
Anyway, my last updates: the service told me my valve body is damaged (they claim it is common in Lexus, Lexus is aware of that but they do not make formal recall). So far they rebuilt transmission and used some body valve repair kit... however, it did not work...waiting to see what happen next...(I hate being scam; however, based what I have observed driving it.. it really sounds like trany... and before I brought the car where it is now I got 4 other opinions (certified mech) - all indicated trany issue...
