i feel like i've hit the jackpot.
a friend who works at an autowreckers told me there was a 5 speed ES300 at the place he works.
he told me it was mint but with a blown motor, i figured i'll go take a look.
car had a mint black interior except the seats and I've always wanted to convert my interior to black if I had the chance. brown is really not my thing....
If the seats were mint, i wouldave taken them too..too bad there was small rips everywhere...i just can't stand those kind of imperfections.
i took all the door panels, centre console, the dash! (god damn it was a PITA) and window moldings.
i wish i had more time to take more stuff off but they close early on saturdays.
here are some pictures of the spoils of war.
panels being taken apart and cleaned.
mint dash will get a layer to 3M CF film. i think it'll look stunning!
all the air ducts under the dash will get a full wash with soap and hot water. I can't stand dusty air that gets blown out.
the gauge cluster I pulled has both speedo and tach needles working! both of mine are burnt out.
lastly, spare 5 speed parts! i'll post those on sale if anyone's interested.

^my front seats right now are mint! no rips no nothing!
it's just that i don't really like the brown color.
if i were to do something to the front seats, i'd probably get a pair of racing seats, but considering how uncomfortable they are, i'm stay away from that idea....plus i'd only go track a few times a year.
plus, who doesn't like heated seats?
and i can't really afford to re-upholster them right now, too many other things to spend on. guh!

EEngineer, I'm guessing you're from Ontario, CA and CAN? If so, can you ask that wrecking shop you went to if they have a complete black interior of a Lexus SC? I wanna do this swap also but not willing to pay retailer price if I can get it from a pick your parts shop. Thanks, please PM me if okay.

The wreckers i went to is tiny! they had like maybe 30 cars in the yard. mostly domestic crap.
It was rather rare already to find a good condition ES there.
for a rare model like the SC....oh man, I don't think there's much I can help you with.

What are you gonna do for the carpet? Are you going to change it to a black one too? The reason I ask is because I can't find anybody who sells replacement carpet for my 1992 es, I was thinking of ordering one for a same generation camry but the cutouts might be a little different. I might end up painting my interior black, congratulations on your score. I never seen a black interior es at any junkyard.

^my carpet is black, but i am having some ideas about the carpet too.
I'm thinking of taking it off and use it as a template to make a custom carpet out of the fabric of my choice...but it might not be as easy as it sounds.
so yea....

I was thinking about separating my old blue carpet from the backside padding maybe using a heat gun and gluing some black carpet onto that. I might go to the pull a part and compare a camry and es300 carpet side by side to see if I can interchange between the two
