Default how dangerous are bad front links?

after an inspection, my mechanic has concluded that i have loose links and they have to be changed. I do believe him, since "front" part of my car makes dull noises when i hit small and large pot holes.
Should i change my links immediately, if decide not to- will they cause problems with any other parts? or become a hazard? thx

If you're talking about the front links that connect with the sway bar, they're not something that needs to be immediately changed out (cars for many years didn't even have sway bars) You could even drive your car without a sway bar (but it would have terrible handling with a lot of body lean). It's not a "good" thing to drive with shot links, but I would rate it the same as someone driving with shocks that need to be replaced.

My front links were also shot, I found some at NAPA for a good price, around $15 a piece. They were easy to install, and the car seemed to have much better handling. It might also be a good idea to replace the sway bar bushings while you're down there.

+1 for BradTank. I agree with him. You can also find the links on e-bay, there are a lot of peeps selling the links for a good price. Easy to install and will make a difference in your handling. Depending on if the bushing have been changed or not, but you may want to change them, especially if they are the orginal ones, but its up to you. If you squeak or hear noise when going over bumps, that may be from the sway bar bushings. I have a 98 ES300 and they have never been changed, so far no issues.

Nothing to worry about, but once changed she will handle allot better, just do not over torque them on.

If the endlink breaks off from the strut housing or the sway bar, it can get wedged into the inside of the wheel or rip the ABS speed sensor cable.
