Goodbye ES300 forums!
Haven't posted in a really long time, but I gotta say, this forum has been the greatest source of knowledge I could have ever needed for my ES300. I met some pretty cool people, learned great ways to take care and modify my ES, learned a lot of cars in general, and drooled over some of the sexiest Lexus' I've ever seen. I've had my 93 ES for 5 years and my time with her is already over. Here she is at her "peak":
And there's so much more that this picture can't show. It was all done with the help of this awesome community.
She's still in the family (horribly de-modded and basically gutted), but still runs (almost).
However she has been replaced with a sexy 2006 Toyota Corolla S!
Picked her up from a local Toyota dealership for $11.4k out the door. Only 47k miles, one owner previously, garage kept, no accidents, and taken care of. I'm not going to do as much aftermarket work on her, but I will definitely make it unique to me.(Also, the gas mileage is epic)
Once again, thanks for being an awesome forum, I know I have been quiet for a really long time, but I've been busy with school and life in general. I wish you all the best and hope everyone enjoys their ES as much as I did!

I'm sure I'll hang around to give my 2 cents from time to time as well, CL is such a nice place. I'd frequent toyotanation but it just doesn't seem as active as it should be.

Thank you kindly! I'll be sure to hang around. So much knowledge has been passed onto myself from past members that new member could really benefit from.

Ty for the compliment, and I so would give it to you for the cost of shipping, but sadly in an attempt to "touch it up" I ended up making it worse, and the chrome turned to crap.
Had to slap on 95-96 black grille since (decent) 92-94 grilles are almost impossible to find.

All the best, BV !! I've enjoyed keeping in touch with you from time to time. Always thought of you (and still do) as a true Lexus/Toyota enthusiast like myself. I'm happy to learn that your 2ES is still in the family (albeit not in the same pristine condition as before) and that you're still driving a Toyota. The Corolla looks sweet and I'm sure she'll treat you well.
BTW, I'm still in my '93 ES. I suppose the day will come when I too will have to move on, but it won't be for a long time yet, hopefully. Mine just recently logged 450,000 kilometers on the ODO and is still running strong. And, I've been meeting up with a fellow local ES owner for coffee every weekend for two years now, and we just recently added a third ES owner who drives ~2 hours (one way) on weekends to join us. He has a white '92 ES in really nice shape.
Anyway - again, I wish you all the best and will look forward to reading the occasional CL post from you in the future.

Simply put, i taped off the area I wanted chrome, sanded off the finish, put down a special adhesive base coat, then used a very reflective silver paint. Worked out nice for a while but the Florida sun is brutal.
Coming from a figure like yourself, these are strong, and well taken words. I can't thank you for all your help in making my baby as awesome as she was, from the DIY Red-tipped needles to the fix it yourself LED backlighting, couldn't have done it without ya.
And 450k km WOW Right before I gave mine up she was at 201k miles but that cant compare to yours, good for you! And yeah when your day comes to get rid of her, for whatever reason, it will be somber but change is a good thing. In the mean time, keep take care of your 'clean as a shiny new whistle' Green Machine!
Thank you kindly, the mod bug has hit already, just bought a new grille to replace the horrendous stock one with the big ugly 'T'
