Default Other Lexus model steering wheels into 3ES?

AS per the title, did anyone ever do this on here?

I like the look and feel of the RX330/350 steering wheels, i believe it was the same style on the 2nd gen. GS [00+].

I have seen the RX steering wheels in all black leather - no wood.

I have an idea in mind this upcoming spring that will look best without a wood steering wheel.

Let me know if you did it?

I care only for the airbag wiring, and to make sure that it is compatible.

I'd like to know, too. The 2002+ steering wheels for all the Lexus cars look more sporty.

Nice to know it can be done, but I agree - looks trashy being missmatched like that. Even the wood on the dash doesn't match between the climate control and the rest of the dash. haha

Sweet! Thanks bro.

It looks like ****. lol

I wanted the RX330 'all black' one or the celica one [all black] since i'm gonna be getting rid of the wood this coming spring [or hope to].

Also, the most important question i forgot was regarding the cruise control... that would be nice to retain. And if i can't i won't bother with a new wheel but 'modify' this one.

I am not clear from your post if your current steering wheel has the wood trim, but if it does, and If you ever want to get rid of it, I would be interested in buying it for my 01 ES300.

I would love to have a wood steering wheel in good condition (Black). I live in Montreal

Haha yea I don't understand people's taste sometimes. Nice on planning to get rid of the wood though.

Yes, its the wood trim one. I don't think i'd sell it regardless... and if i can get my hands on a OEM black leather from an ES300 i'd need to keep the airbag.

I dunno. In case i ever want to go back to the wood, i'd like to 'have the option'.

Parts for these cars are hard to come by. You have to deal with the penny pinchers on eBay and junkywards, or sit there and wait for a great deal.

I've been looking to replace my RH headlight for over a year now... and there's no way I'm spending 250$ for one 'new' aftermarket unit when used 04-05 headlamps go for 80-100$ on eBay... another example is the 2001 tails...

There are halogen assemblies both left and right side for the 3ES for under $100 in good condition. Those are easy to come by. It's the HID assemblies that are more difficult. Call those yards I PM'd you months ago.

You could always get a custom wood wheel done by these guys. No idea on prices though.

I have a 04 es and I think to replace the steering wheel with oem is about $3000. I watched a video from Lexus on how its made, lots of time and talent. Thats still a lot of money.

They didn't want to ship me those.

I know that the following scrap yard near Montreal has/had a 2000 ES300 about 1 months ago. I got a complete Right Front turn signal Assembly from them in perfect condition for $20.00 CDN. Maybe you can give them a call and see if they still have any parts left.

I tried to call them for you a few minutes ago, but they are closed for the holidays)
