'95ES Warm Start Problem.. Sputters and dies
The car starts fine when it's cold, but if i try to start it within an hour of driving it, it sputters and dies unless i press on the gas for a few seconds.
It shows no other symptoms, it runs great. No rough idle. No CEL and no OBD codes.
I did a Google search but it seems that there isn't one single cause for this problem. I wanted to see if anyone here knows what this could be before i start replacing temp. sensors and the fuel pump.

So after some more research, I found that the ECT: Engine Coolant Temperature sensor could be acting up. I removed it and tested it for resistance (ohms) As instructed in the Camry repair manual. It gave me no reading, so i figured i will replace it. Then i gave the sensor a wipe down with some hot water, and suddenly i started getting a correct resistance reading.
Since then, I have had no problems. I'm not sure how a sensor can just be "cleaned", but it seems like that's what happened.

Definitely useful info. On my Pathfinder that I used to have, it acted up once with kind of a similar problem. I wiggled the MAF (mass airflow sensor) off a little, wiped down what I could, and put it back. What do ya know, it was back to normal.
