hopefully someone here can help:

I have a 97 ES with the usual LCD broken on the radio. In addition, all the lights on the center console (radio, gear shift, LCD backlight) do not work. I figured it was burned bulbs, since the radio lights seem to be a common problem. I just replaced the gear shift bulb, and it still doesn't work. I then realized that the interior light dimmer switch doesn't seem to be doing anything. If I adjust this, the lighting of the speedometer doesn't change. Could the problem with my center console be related to the dimmer? I don't want to waste money on a new dimmer switch if this isn't the problem.

If anyone has any help, or pointers on how to troubleshoot more, I'd really appreciate it. Its almost impossible to see anything since its so dark in the car at night.
