Just a quick questiion, but people owning a 1999-2000 lexus es300, what do you figure, on average is your 0-60 time. Ive seen times from 7.5 to 8.6 seconds and that is quite a large difference. I know the es is no race car, but i was just sort of curious. Only thing i know is its faster then a older volvo s40 awd with the 2.5

I know the '01 is about 8.1 or something and I would say that the '99-'00 wouldn't be far off from that. There are also a couple of factors that fluctuate the times like tire pressure, how much weight is in/on the car (how much gas you have in the tank, passengers) and some other miscellaneous things.

Ya i figured the average was bout 7.9-8.2 The es is one of those cars that is very sensitive to surrounding circumstances

Keep in mind that these figures were measured back when the car was new. If your sludge level is low, and your compression levels are still high (and all within 10% of each other) - you MIGHT be near those figures.

why would the 00 be any different than the 01? I thought the 97-99's had the less HP of the 3ES's.

Where did you hear/read that? Low 5's is quick... under 5 is very quick, which the ES is neither.

haha yeah im pretty sure it was sarcasm. Atleast I hope it is because he seems to be pretty knowledgeable member and everyone in there right mind knows a 200hp sedan aint gonna be anywhere near 5's. Maybe if it was launched off a cliff ;-)

Are you saying it isn't low 5's??? Well now I'm upset, that used Lexus dealer said I'd be able to pass my friends b5 S4's.

Seriously though on a car like this 0-60 times are irrelevant. If you must know from what I've always seen and read on the 3ES's with the 210hp vvt it was mid 7's. That's pretty average if not better than average for a sedan of this class of this age. For what you'd expect from a car like the ES I've never felt a lack of power in the ES, I've actually found it performs better than the 4ES300. It has adequate power in all spectrum's which is all I'd ask of this car.

Having said that, be assured there are many slower cars out there. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I was able to pass this little Suzuki Swift that cut me off the other day, not too often I get to do that in this car, put a big smile on my face

Dude, my ES goes 0-60 in 3.9sec!

It's the AWD traction that really makes the difference.

You guys should check your turbo's to make sure it's getting enough oil. A poorly lubricated turbo can really hurt your performance.

How about 0-60 in high 3's all without ever shifting out of first gear You wanna talk about fun! (and insane) Any clues on which car im talkin about?


As far as the 3ES, after having it a couple months now im getting more used to its power as I came from a near 300HP Acura TL-S and ofcourse my fun car has over 500. The more I drive the ES the more it actually feels respectable for what it is. Surprisingly using 93 octane premium really makes a SOTP difference. Im trying a tank of it now for ****s and grins to see how it runs since it says for better performance use 91 or higher. For sure feels peppier.

These rolling sofas are not fast enough to even make it interesing.

Why not tear out all the seats and panels to get an extra second or so ?
