2005 ES330 Key Remote Trunk button won't work
I have a 2005 ES330. Recently the trunk button on both of my remote keys stopped working. So I know the problem is not the battery in the keys. The trunk release below and left of the steering wheel DOES work and I have checked the valet button in the glove box to make sure it is set OK. It must be something in the latch. Anyone got any ideas? Fuse perhaps?
Thanks much.

Thats rather odd. The latch is fine if the button on the dash works, it gets its signal from the same place. Are you holding the buttom on the key fob for 2 seconds?

it might be the particular trunk button issue on the remote because of frequent use.

Do you have another master key you could try? It might be the particular key itself.

You might want to pull off the button/panel to expose the back side to see if the connector is loose or not.

Nope, they all seem connected properly. I wonder if its something behind the button itself, but i cant open it

Check with a multimeter if there is actually power at the plug and if the switch is contacting.

Forgot about that button!
I'm so use to having the big shiny metal button in my 2GS that I completely forgot about the switch in the glovebox.
