WOW! They are FINALLY admitting that there is a problem! I guess enough people threatened them that would go to the media...it sucks that it had to come to that level before they admitted it...

Also, too bad a lot of non-lexus sites have this information too...puts a serious ding in "Lexus Reliability" in their eyes...

I heard about this. My friend, Mikey, works at Lexus in my area. He told us about it. Luckily my car is fine, but that is awesome that they are fixing it. He said that as long as you can prove that your oil has been changed at least ONCE a year, they will cover the motor.

lol, they admitted nothing. if you guys aren't changing your oil often enough, you need to drive over there right now. when was the last time you had your oil changed? they are not admitting anything, this will happen in any car if you don't change the oil. take care of the cars guys

people were talking about this on CL back a few months ago. never thought they'd really send letters out. some people like what lexus is doing, others think that it's some ploy to cover up bigger issues. i dunno. why wouldn't anyone change their oil on a regular basis anyway?

Because unfortunately a lot of the American public is lazy....

Most ppl just treat their cars as appliances to get from point A to point B and nothing more. Unlike us, who care about our cars a lot more than that.

Anyway, ::stepping off my soapbox:: Sorry about the rant.

a lot of people are lazy here, look how many cars go with unfixed dents, and rust, and broken headlights. people drving on spare tires for more than a month. stupid things like that

I got the letter also. It basically says that Lexus will stand behind their engines even if the owner(s) are negligent. I don't know of any other auto maker who will do that.
