Default 97 tranny fit a 94?

Hey guys the transmission on my brothers ES is dying...Seems to have trouble switching up gears...stays in 1st for awhile then suddenly will jump. I found a 97 ES tranny with 130k for 350.00...is there a possibility that I can install this in the car?

There may be electrical differences as I nkow the 94-96 Has an ECT butten while the 97+ does not. I need to look into it.
