96 dome light doesnt come on for back doors
the front 2 doors work, but the back 2 dont. i see there is buttons, but when either back 1 is open, the dome light doesnt come on. and yes, the door switch is activated on the light

There are two connectors that the wire to the back doors, pass thru. My guess is that one of them have been damaged. My car has the same problem, but I never use the back seat, I cannot justify the effort to repair it. I do not even know if the rear windows work on my car LOL.

The reason I asked about the radio was to eliminate the possibility of mis-wiring when it was installed. But since it had the problem with the original equipment, you have already answered the next question.
Both rear door switches are hooked in parallel, the wire then runs thru two connectors and then splices into the same wire as the front passenger door. The driver door is hooked up with a diode to isolate it. I assume the front passenger door is working?
Do you have access to a DVM (multimeter), if so I will look up the connector locations, and pin-out. With that info you will be able to see app where the break in the circuit is. Chances are that you will at some point, need to remove the drivers seat. It will also take a few hours work. If you feel up to that I will look up the info for you.
