I'm about to take out my center console tonight and redo all the bulbs in my climate control--A quick question: I'm worried that if I unplug the radio, it will require a security code to restart it (like most Japanese vehicles). My problem is, my LCD is totally blacked out (another problem), so I will be screwed!! Do the 1997 ES 300's require a security code once the radio is unplugged??

If there a little key logo on the radio than yes, if there isnt than u will be fine. But to my knowledge only the 92 to 96 gen 2 models had that feature.

Well, I pulled the radio and climate control last night. I'm going to buy all the bulbs today. There was a little 'key' logo on the climate control, but not the radio itself. I guess I'll find out tonight when I do the re-install. I'm hoping Ariyanna is right about it being a '92-'96 feature only...
