1992 Remote key Battery
I didn't get the battery with my key, and I have been having some trouble tracking one down
I contacted Lexus, but the online support gave me the wrong battery information, as that battery didn't fit
does anyone have a 1992 es-300 or know what battery to find it in? and could give me a model number?
Thanks in advance!

Hello, Thank you both for your responses
lexpl, If I had a camera with good enough resolution to show you, I would, but without it, you'll need to take my word - the only writing is the FCCID, and the Part number(doc1551k699), but nothing elsenone of the batteries I've tried (radioshack) have worked, and I was a bit of anxiety about eyeballing a battery in the packaging
BK429, if you could tell me the part number on your battery, it would be much appreciated
Thanks!

The earlier Lexus models did not have the separate fobs. The door opening transmitter was in the key itself. The batteries in these keys are smaller than the batteries in the fobs.
The 93 LS that I previously owned used a CR 1216 battery. As I recall, our 94 ES also uses the same battery. I would suspect that your 92 uses this size, also.
These are available at Walmart (in the watch battery area) and at Radio Shack.

Just for the heck of it ('cause this post got me curious), I cracked my key fob open on my '97 ES300 and it has no indication of the battery size in it, by I do know mine takes a CR2016.
01LEXPL -- That's interesting how your door transmitter is on the actual key itself. My '97 has a seperate key fob. Must have been a change up on the later '97-'01 ES300's?

1992 ES300 is what I have...
Battery is an Energizer CR1216 3 Volt.
Like I said I bought it from either a Kmart or Walmart, but I'm sure both carry them.
Same numbers on the inside of my battery cover on the key...

You guys know that if you walk into the parts depo of the Lexus dealer, and ask for a battery for the key, it's FREE. They even put it in for you. FREE of charge. Yea I know this sounds kinda shady but it's NOT. Of course I keep hearing those stories about how people call them "stealerships".. but I think that is the only free thing they offer... other than coffee when you go talk about buying a car.
