Default 1999 es 300 tranny problem

My es 300 seems to have a few tranny problems. When I got it, I changed the fluid but I overfilled it by about 300 mls, would this cause any real damage? One of the problems with the tranny is that I can feel it shifting more than on my chevy, every time it shifts gears there is nearly a one second pause and then it shifts and, on a cold start when I am driving between 30-70 kmh it stays in second gear and runs between 2500 and 3500 rpm, but that problem is gone after it warms up. Looking for opinions on if this transmission is on the way out?

I drove with the fluid overfilled by 300 mls for maybe a 1000km a week or two tops. But the reason I changed the fluid in the first place was because of those symptoms. I did already change the fluid... it's strange because after the drain and fill, I checkd it at operating temp and it was fine, I even did so after about a 75km trip and then all of a sudden its overfilled.

I think it's pretty common for second gen ES300 transmissions to take a few minutes to shift into third. I own a '98 which is on its second transmission - both of which have that particular characteristic. Does it shift hard enough to jerk the entire car? Or is it simply a firm shift?

fluid level is high at operating temp because its expanding... which is normal.. the tranny fluid stick should show a hot and cold line.

how much miles u have on the tranny?

Yeah mine does the same thing too. Always has. I think it's to warm the car up faster if I had to venture a guess. 300ml is about a third of a quart, nothing to worry about.
