buying used 93-95 es300 advice?
I am looking for a 1993-96 es300 - what should I look for when purchasing . . and how do you test drive to check for tranny problems, etc.?

Look for....
Leaking oil, Overheating issues, Alignment problems, Interior Wear and Tear, Etc.
How to tell if you have tranny issues? Well does the car shift smoothly? Does it jerk? Does it not shift? Take it to like 65mph...

Get a carfax report. Look @ service records the owner hopefully has. Is the car kept clean & uncluttered, and look like it was appreciated? Take it to a reliable mechanic for a thorough look if in doubt.

Some of the common issues I've read in this forum includes:
1) burnt gauge lights
2) transmission issue
3) oil leaking from rear valve cover gasket
4) broken antennae mast
obviously the biggest issue is the tranmission, everything else can be fixed. There's a DIY on the gauge lights nad the rear valve cover gasket can be fixed if your mechanically inclined and able to search, find and read from notes on this board.
Good luck and keep us posted on your search.
