Default exhaust noob

I had engine code 21, O2 sensor on radiator side of exhaust? Makes perfect sense because that's where my exhaust leak seems to be.
I took it to a place that said an exhaust donut had fallen out, but I can't remember where he said it was. Would it be the exhaust joint right after the O2 sensor? It looks more like it takes a flange gasket. Why... Why did they make the nut go on the bottom side?

Cool

I see from your Public User profile you have a '93 ES300, so this is coming from the 3VZ-FE (if that helps any of you gurus in helping answer the question).

I'm having a hard time visualizing where this thing is/goes, so I'll try to get under mine tonight to check, although I'm custom from the y-pipe back, so...

Yeah it is a 3vzfe. I keep forgetting to put that in the title. This is at the front of the engine compartment, right behind the radiator. It's obscured by a heat shield. The O2 sensor is an inch away from it.

Just looking for anything that might help you since I didn't have time to get under mine tonight:
A TN TRD Exhaust Install Thread that mentions the "exhaust donut" / "donut gasket" and its positioning in the y-pipe (start at post 48 there).

In this thread on another Toyota board, they again mention that this goes in the header (search "donut gasket").

Given the info in the threads above, I'm wildly guessing that the gaskets might be (no ego investment here; gurus feel free to modify ) the ones in the image attached below?

Ah ha. Looks like the gasket there is round, so I must have the right one. That's exactly what I'm looking for Sloooooooooooooooow, thanks a bunch for all your sleuthing.
Man, all I need to do is put in the front gasket, I'm guessing I'm going to have to remove the whole pipe and that it's going to SUCK to remove the rear.
