fog light issues
okay so i have a 97 es300 with fog light issues. my fog lights havent worked since i got the car but i figured it was because of the bulbs being burnt out. i did a little research on here and found out that first you should check the relay switch in the drivers side. ive checked it and it seems to be working fine as i can hear it click when i switch the fogs on and off. so secondly i decided to go get some new bulbs and switch them out. i just got done changing the drivers side fog light bulb and im still not getting any light! so in my last ditch effort i went and changed the fog light fuse with a spare from the engine bay, and STILL no fogs!
what am i to do? what else can i check? please help! desperate here!
thanks in advance for any help or ideas

yes the headlights have to be on in order for me to hear the relay for the fogs click. so i know the wires up to that point are fine, i dont know what could happen between there and the bulb.

I have the same issue with a 96 ES300 and no fog lights
I had the same thing happen several years ago, I took apart the foglights and cleaned all the contacts, tested the bulbs and after a restart or to they worked until last week.
I hooked up the bulbs to a battery and they still work. I also cleaned the contacts, this time no go. Is it possible that it is the relay?
Where is the fog lamp relay on a 96 ES 300? I cannot find it...

so what ive determined is that there is a short somewhere between the relay and where the bulb is connected. i finally figured out that i can put in a brand new fuse for the fog lights, try to turn them on, and it instantly blows the fuse.
what can i do about this? i dont know how to follow the wires to try and fix it. can i do something to directly wire them? are there any alternatives? do i have to find the short somehow or would i have to take it in to be looked at?
thanks for any help

i thought about doing that, but then they would always be on with no control to turn them off right? unless i had the headlights as a whole in the off position, whereas i ususally use the automatic setting. i also had the thought that if i spliced into the parking light wire like that (which is also the blinkers) would it make my fog lights blink with my blinker? lol

Unscrew the cap behind the housing, then reach inside and undo the clip that hold the bulb in there. Replace bulb and do it in reverse. I DO find it easier to remove the entire housing though, that way I can check if anything is inside and whatnot

Bolts are 8 or 10. There are 3 holding the housing to the bumper. I just unscrewed all the ones on the car itself rather than the ones on the housing. You'll have to play tetris to take it out correctly if I'm remembering right for the square foglights. Its been ages since I replaced them with the projector ones...

I have a question regarding my fogs also. I installed HIDs in my low beams and my fog lights. They worked fine for a few days. The fog lights now won't come on at all. The low beams still work fine, but I am not sure why the fog lights are not working. Any help would be appreciated.
