Wink Suspension for 92 ES300

Anyone have any suggestions as far as Shocks for my 92 ES300. I am putting IS300 rims on (17in) and wondering what type of shocks I need. I don't want to drop my car either. Thanks!!!!

good luck with your IS300 rims since those wheels are designed for a RWD car and a different offset. Your ES300 is FWD. They will fit, but you will only hurt your axles, hub bolts and etc in the future.

Good Luck!

Default IS300 Rims

Actually I think they are the same offset. I believe its 45? Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I called AAA rims www.aaarims.com and they said they would fit. I originally wanted to get the GS400 rims but they were too wide 17x8 where the IS is 17x7. Do you have other sources that say otherwise about the IS rims on an ES? and there is even a picture of the car on the gallery.

Believe what you want. RWD and FWD cars don't have the same offset. I know about that picture in the gallery...i've seen it before. Perhaps you should do a search on this topic from the past.

Default 92 ES300 Offset

What is the offset for my car? If you said that the offset needs to stay between 40 and 45 then what is the difference between IS300 and the ES300. Also does the bolt pattern differ between the cars? I'm not trying to believe what I want, I'm just like other people on the forum, whom want information from fellow drivers. Thanks!

Offset for the IS is +30 I believe. I forgot it has been a while. But you should be able to do a forum search on the topic to get the exact offset. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and it's identical for both vehicles. The exact offset is +43 but anything from 40 to 45 will do fine.

I'VE HAVE A 92 ES300 WITH 18" WHEELS, AND
FROM MY RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THE ALLOWABLE
OFFSET VARIATIONS FOR THE 1992 ES300 RANGED
BETWEEN +35 TO +42.

I COULDNT FIND ANY OTHER INFORMATION ON THIS SUBJECT,
BUT THIS WAS 4 YEARS AGO, IN 98.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY DIFFERENT INFO SPECIFICALLY
RELATED TO THE 92 ES300S OFFSET, PLEASE POST!

Default Offset for ES300

The offset is still between +34 and 42 I believe. But 17 X 7 with that offset should fit fine.. Look nicer than stock thats for sure....

I think I saw a post from the guy who's ES is pictured above with the IS rims saying he'd had problems due to the rims.

Correct offset for the 15 x 6 ES 300 is +45mm
Correct offset for the 17 x 7 IS 300 is + 50 mm

I know this for a fact because I currently own both cars and I work at Lexus. : ) The offset is stamped on the inside face of the wheel.

Actually, that refers the wheel's bolt pattern. Offset is a single number listed in millimeters. Reference derekb's post.
