1999 es300 factory alarm problem
my factory alarm recently stopped working. the keyless/remote entry works. and i can bearly hear the beep( i was also wondering were the beep is located.) the alarm doesn't go off though. can anyone help?
if it does matter i bypass the stock amp and have a after market deck w/ amp and subs. i only messed with two out of the three plugs to the stock amp because i found out that one was vital for constant power for the stereo deck. any help is so appreciated. thanks.

maybe i'm not understanding this correctly but you answer your own question by saying you "bypass the stock alarm". That would be why your alarm isn't working anymore.

There's a **** underneath the dash below the steering column that you can adjust the volume of the alarm "arming" and "dis-arming".
as for the alarm not working.....have you "armed" the system and then tried to open the door w/ a key? What happens?.....The horn should go off and parking lights flash consistently.

When you opened the door....do the interior lights come on? Seems like the door switch isn't working correctly. Have you tried this with both front doors?
Also try manually opening the trunk when the car is "armed". What happens?

Do you only have the problem with ONE door ?
If so, it sounds like the plastic alarm switch fell off the end of the lock cylinder (inside the door). At the end of the lock cylinder, inside the door, is a white nylon alarm switch which snaps on to the very end. If it comes off, and the that switch is in the "off" position, it will stay in the unarmed position, no matter what state the alarm is set to, until it is re-attached or manually turned again.
Was anyone working inside the door panels ?
