Remote starters on lexus?
Does anyone here have a remote starter installed on their Lexus? I have a Bulldog brand and has heard that this brand causes some problems. I was thinking any remote starter will cause a problem or two on a Lexus. Some expert installers say installation can be done but it just require more parts to have it installed. What is a typical installation charge for remote starters on a Lexus in your area? Over here cost $200, more than my starter.

I have had the remote start on my ES300 for I want to say about 2 years? I bought it with the whole works on my alarm. Proximity sensor, motion sensor, auto start every thing and it was not hard to install they just treated it like any other car. I have no idea what they are talking about? I mean are car is just like a Toyota Camary, when will people realize that! I bet if you call them back and tell them the install is going in a Camary they will be like "oh that's know problem," but when they here Lexus they make it sound hard and automatically tack on about $100 bucks more just because you made them say the word Lexus! Pisses me off! Just make sure that they disconnect or disarm your factory piece of crap alarm because it will start honking when you auto start it. It will think some one is steeling the car. Good luck and pay as little as possible.

Remote starters
I have one on all 3 of my vehicles. If I had it all to do again I'd be a little more involved in the decision of brands to install, I let the dealer's sub-contractor do it, and they installed audivox/pursuit stuff. Really cheap product, it does the job, but it's not great quality stuff. I would've opted for Clifford/DEI, they at least have an overcrank preventer if you get in and turn the key too far after you remote started. Additionally, I would get the "correct" transponder bypass. There are 2 methods, use an EXPENSIVE Lexus key, or a special device that turns on and bypasses the chip security only while the remote start is activated.

So how long did it take for them to finish the install? More than 3 hours? Do you know of any remote starter that has multiple options like rolling windows up and down, trunk release and sunroof all in one install. You can only choose one with the starter that I have.

Good tips! I got the DEI with the overcrank preventer. The remote start is simply that, just a remote start. If you want options, that will regard you alarm's brain unit and how many aux's it can have. I would stick with all of one brand. I used all DEI, the brain, starter, prox sensore and so on. My next thing is rolling windows. DEI also has an adition that lets you page your car through a phone call and controll the alarm by pressing touchtone buttons from anywere.
