I have all four bolts out that hold the subwoofer in, but I cant get it out. I don't see any other clips. Did they also glue the plate that it's mounted on into the car? Do I just pry it up really hard?

Edit: Never mind. I see it is sealed in with caulk. Anyone know the best way to get that out? Just cut it?

Default sub woover cone replacement

Sorry. I did not get to the forum notifications after my last posting.
But I ultimately resolved the sub woover problem by buying replacement cone suspension rings at ebay ( available in various sizes) and followed instructions for installation of these rings on Youtube. Exept with one variation of my own. Instead of gluing the RING on the FRAME first and then the CONE to the floppy RING, I glued the RING on the CONE first and then the CONE WITH RING to the FRAME. It is critical that the cone be perfectly centered or the voice coil will rub against the magnet.
While the glue is wet It is easier to move something that is floppy on something rigid , then centering the cone on something that is floppy. On a difficulty scale of one to ten, this is about a six.

Just thought I'd bump this.

Can anyone tell me how to unplug the rear sub so I can listen to music until I get the courage up to try to get this thing repaired? Going to take it to a place here that refoams.

Have some questions. Since this thread is old, I'm hoping for some answers!

I have an 03 ES300 with this problem. Removing the bottom seat is easy. I really wish they hadn't made the sub so hard to get out.

Some question as I move forward:

- Did anyone here disconnect the battery? One user said this operation could deploy an airbag. If so could one tell me how to disconnect it?
- Removing some of the screws on the bottom of the seat back seem hard given the range of motion possible. Did people here use a power-screwdriver, or just a really small one or something?
- What is the best way to unclip the seatbelt so it can be moved aside? I do not want to damage the clips on top of the seat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I disconnected the battery.

I just used a ratchet to remove the bolts holding on the seat back.

Access the seat belt holder clip from the hole in the back of them.
