Default Project Blue Too

I decided to replace the dim red blinking security LED with a BRIGHT blue LED instead. In addition to replacing the LED, I also modified a resistor value to further increase the light output. I estimate the new blue LED to be 2 to 3 times brighter than the OEM original. The two pics of the LED lit up on the work bench were taken with it hooked up to a 9V battery. 12 volts = brighter yet

DULL OLD RED

BRIGHT NEW BLUE

IN-DASH PICS:

Props to esucaris1 for relinquishing his extra security/dimmer module so I could take it apart and experiment!

If anyone is interested, I'm offering an upgraded Security LED service in the ES300/330/350 Classifieds Forum.

Your wish is my command....as soon as the current downpour of rain stops and I have time to install it. Probably in the next day or two.

Default New Service In The Es Classifieds Forum

Thanks guys.
If you want one of these - and let's face it, who wouldn't?! - but don't want the hassle of buying parts and tackling the modifications yourself, check out my ES300 classified thread:
