So they CAN be adjusted up/down with those screws in the center of the housing? Which way does what? (This could be a PITA rinse 'n repeat since I'll have to work in the daytime and test aim after dark...!)

No problem! Glad my write up is still helping you and everyone else after all this time. I know how frustrating it is when you want to work on your car but dont know exactly how to go about it. I tried to make this write up as detailed as possible with pics to make it even easier.
I have an LS430 now so sadly I dont do anymore write ups with the es300 but i still check out the es300 forums now and again and ive still kept the same user name with the es300 name as it was my first Lexus!

The first part of my write up is also helpful for those that want to access or change the turn signal bulb.

Default Thanks for the info!

Just did this on my '98 ES300 (just over 200k) yesterday, was straightforward with the information you provided. Because these cars just won't die, here we are more than a decade after the original post and the information is still very useful. Fog lights are good as new now. Thanks!

Thank you, what a great instructional pictorial. Some of the things these engineers do today are not designed for any repair. I understand, making the vehicle lighter and cheaper, not all like the old days.
