you need an HID kit. THis was not even an OEM option with Lexus for this car, so it is going to be aftermarket.

ever tried piaa or a higher wattage rating h3, i was thinking of removing that reflector piece (bulb shader) inside the fog light assembly to see if it would increase the brightness. ex: walmart fog lights w/o any reflectors are brighter than the oem on the es, imo. tested some pilot xenon 50w 885, was planning to modify but same results. dont know pilot brand too well just that its not generic.

hah ya i was just looking at those n they are not bad either ..12bucks each. i think i will get one as part of summer/spring 2011
but i had few q on that site ..like for example how do i know the size of the bulb. For example i was looking at the reading lamp bulb and there were few choices to select with different length. So i guess i have to measure the ones i have installed and then match it up from the site??

Great Thread. Helped me get through putting HIDs in my foglights. If I didnt have this I think I would have been under that car for quite a while lol.

Always be careful when removing the signal lamp not to break the headlight tap.

Nice Write-up.
How on earth did u change it. I have a 2000 model and i dont see any screw in order to remove the unit. The only screw i see is for aiming the light. So i guess only way is to go underneath and to remove the plastic cover.

The screw for removing the turn signal is underneath the black plastic cover that's over the headlights.

Ah, I see. Can't help you there since I have a 99. I know the layout is different, but I assume it has the same components. Feel around and there should be a small screw sticking out with a nut on it, and a plastic tab that holds it to the bumper.

ya i ordered that = not a good choice. 2 reasons
1) the length is bit longer
2) Its not a s bright because all the 9-LED are "hidden" inside the cap of the foglight. If u can somehow remove the little concave size look inside the fog unit then ya. But too much work.
