No no, if you have all the screws removed, than you have to lightly, but forcefully pull around the edges of the door trim. There are clips that are holding the trim on, once you hear the clack noise of them being unclipped, than you will notice that the door trim will come of freely. The speaker cover will come off with the door trim. You will just have to disconnect the wires leading to the speaker and door lights etc. If you have any queries, ask.
Cheers.
Cheers.

hi - thanks for feedback. after a few hrs i finally got the driver's door panel off. now i can see the regulator and motor assembly. i suspect the motor is bad (not regulator) and am planning to try and buy that part and thus replace that.
does anyone know how difficult it is to get the old motor off? and new one back in place? is the "worst" over now that i can see the assembly? wondering if i have to remove the cross-bar that runs horizontally across the door (which partially blocks the glass and regulator/motor assembly). see attached picture.
any insight from someone whose made it thru this is much appreciated

yes the crossbar is removed as well and also remove the rubber plug at the rear of the window and the inner window wiper strip ...remove the 3 window bolts after you mark the washers with a sharpie so you will get the window alingned on assembly... that might not be so easy as my window still was operational... you can try this remove the window switch from the door panel hook it to the plug and tap on the wiper motor as you operate the switch it may get the motor move a little to acess the 3 window bolts... let us know if that works
