If you mean "deoderizing" by removing the odors from the outside, aka exhaust fumes, skunk odor, neighbors garbage, ect., than you are referring to charcoal filters. Usually used in mask filters such as paint spraying masks, they are not made for cars. They would become useless in a matter of hours/days. The carbon particulate filter can only be exposed to open air for a limited time and will become useless over time. When I was a paint sprayer, I would put my mask inside a ziplock bag to prolong the life of the filters. That being said, in your car, you are forcing the air thru the filter, kinda like forced air induction, with a fan that way outperforms the lungs.
